Intravenous Nutrient Therapy

Nutrient therapy is a very important part of Naturopathic treatment to support optimal health.  The most common administration of nutrient therapy is oral in the form of various supplements.  Depending on the integrity of the digestive system and its ability to effectively absorb these nutrients, occasionally it may be necessary to deliver nutrients directly to the cells via intravenous administration.

We are all familiar with in-hospital IV therapy in which various medications and fluids are delivered directly into the bloodstream.  This therapy is effective because it allows the nutrients to be delivered directly to the cells, bypassing the digestive system and allowing for a greater concentration of active nutrients to cross the cellular membrane.  IV therapy can be more effective than oral therapy because it achieves much higher serum (blood) concentrations of active nutrients and therefore better therapeutic benefit.

At Nature Doctors we offer various forms of IV nutrient therapy to treat a wide variety of conditions including but not limited to:

·         Fibromyalgia

·         Chronic fatigue syndrome

One of the most common IV nutrient treatments is the Myer’s Cocktail, developed by Dr. John Myer’s, MD.  Many physicians are now using modified versions of this formula to treat most of the above listed conditions.  The Myer’s Cocktail contains Magnesium, Calcium, Vit B12, Vit B6, Vit B5, B Complex and Vit C in varying dosages.

Often patients will undergo a series of IV treatments at regularly spaced intervals (usually one IV/week or one IV every second week depending on the condition treated).  The time between IVs is gradually increased until the IVs are no longer necessary.  Other patients may require regular IVs for an indefinite period of time to control their specific medical condition.

Acute conditions such as migraine headaches, menstrual pain, or upper respiratory tract infections can be treated effectively with high doses of IV nutrients.

At Nature Doctors, our IV room is a calm, relaxing, peaceful environment for IV administration.  Speak with your doctor to discuss how IV nutrient therapy could be of benefit to you.

I just want to know more info about the iv vitamins. I’m more interested on stress and fatigue vitamins. Having a hard time sleeping on every night due to over thinking.

By any chance, can It be covered by health insurance? If not, how much per session?

    Thank you

    1. Jason Bachewich says:

Sorry for the delay. IV vitamins can be very helpful for burnout and energy issues. Sleep is usually related to stress. It is usually not covered by insurance but the doctor time is – about 15 minutes charged per IV. Hope this helps. Average cost per session would be around $150-$175 for a therapeutic bag. For a less aggressive approach, closer to $100-$120

  2. Edmil Rialubin says:

Do you have injectible glutathione for skin whitening?

    1. Jason Bachewich says:

Yes, we provide IV glutathione. It is required to do a full intake to be sure of no allergic reactions or underlying health conditions that may make the treatment unsafe though.

      Please call to book.
