Lyme Disease – the hidden killer

It is the time of year where people start coming down with unusual symptoms and chalk it up to back to work / school stress.  It is important to remember that if you or a loved one were bit by a tick this summer, quite often the long term infection symptoms do not start until the fall – 2-3 months after the original bite.

Symptoms could include:

low energy

poor sleep

twitches and cramping muscles

aches and pains – especially ones that wander throughout the body

headaches

If you or anyone starts to experience these symptoms, it is important to be tested for Lyme disease and co-infections such as Bartonella, Babesia and Erlichiosis/Anaplasmosis.  Manitoba Health has some limitations in their testing and if you do not test positive, it does not necessarily mean you do not have an infection.

Once a thorough workup has been done on you and you are still confused as to the cause of your disease, you can get more thorough testing done through Nature Doctors.  We use labs such as Arminlabs in Germany, IgeneX labs in California and DNA Connexions in Colorado.  Each of these labs offer different options and the correct one will be decided for you after your initial consult with Dr. Jason Bachewich ND or Dr. Aminder Singh ND.

For more information – stay tuned to our Facebook page where I will be posting videos this fall.

Nature Doctors is located in Winnipeg, Manitoba specializes in Integrative Lyme disease care.
